Our Mission Is to Expand What’s Possible.

The High Tech High Foundation advances educational equity and innovation by investing in students and educators across High Tech High’s 16 TK–12 schools and Graduate School of Education, strengthening transformative learning locally and globally.

The goal is not simply to prepare students for the world as it is, but to empower them to shape what comes next.

— Larry Rosenstock, Founding CEO of High Tech High Schools

Why the Foundation Matters

High Tech High has always been about more than strong schools. It is about expanding opportunity for students, developing educators, and advancing ideas that can strengthen public education.

Our Story

High Tech High began in 2000 with a bold belief: public education can be both excellent and equitable.

Today, that vision includes 16 schools serving more than 6,400 students and an embedded Graduate School of Education that helps educators rethink what learning can be.

The High Tech High Foundation exists to help this work grow, reach further, and remain strong for the future.

Why Philanthropy Matters

Many of the experiences that define High Tech High are not fully funded through public dollars.

Private support helps make possible:

  • internships and real-world learning

  • fieldwork, exhibitions, and hands-on projects

  • college and career pathways

  • teacher preparation and leadership development

  • professional learning shared with educators beyond San Diego
